Job summary

Adams and Associates, operator of Shriver Job Corps, seeks a Recreation staff member to support a robust student recreation program at the Devens campus.

You will coordinate activities with the Center and local resources, supervise students, ensure safety, maintain equipment, and arrange transportation as needed. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring a High School diploma and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or 1-year related experience working with youth preferred.
  • Valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Recreation team in providing students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.
  • Coordinate recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources.
  • Ensure safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.
  • Document student participation and accountability during recreation activities.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and material and controls their use.
  • Recommend purchase of specific equipment.
  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for the overall appearance, condition and organization of the recreation department facilities.
  • May oversee student recreation aide program.
  • Provide high‑quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influences student behavior.
  • Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Provide transportation for students on a regular basis.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Our Shriver campus is located right off of Route 2 in Devens, MA and services between 200 and 300 students at any given time with rolling admissions weekly. Schedule

Wednesday-Friday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM, Saturday-Sunday, 1:00 PM-10:00 PM
