Job summary

Doma in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Activities & Life Enrichment Coordinator to lead a resident-centered activities program within our skilled nursing team. You will design, implement, and evaluate engaging activities that support residents' physical, mental, and social well-being in alignment with individualized care plans.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s in Recreation or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation; OR minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and coordinating activities programming in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience leading life enrichment or recreational activities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Passion for serving older adults and vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, schedule, and facilitate engaging group and one-on-one recreational, educational, social, cultural, and therapeutic activities based on each resident's interests, abilities, and individualized care plan.
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive activities program that promotes resident independence, dignity, social engagement, and overall well-being.
  • Complete resident activity assessments and incorporate findings into individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation, progress, preferences, and program effectiveness.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure activities support resident goals.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and community organizations to enhance programming.
  • Plan seasonal events, celebrations, outings, entertainment, and special programs.
  • Ensure activity areas, equipment, and supplies are safe, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with resident transportation for appointments and community outings as needed.
  • Maintain activity calendars, program records, budgets, inventories, and other required documentation.
  • Provide operational support to the facility by assisting with additional responsibilities as needed.

Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities & Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our skilled nursing team. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, resident-centered activities program that promotes each resident's physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with their individualized assessment and care plan.

Key Responsibilities

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 3pm

Pay: $20-22/ hr

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency wit h Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Passion for serving older adults and vulnerable populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Activity Professional (CAP), ADC, CTRS, or comparable certification.
  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or assisted living.
  • Knowledge of CMS regulations and person-centered care practices.
  • Experience conducting resident assessments and developing individualized programming.
  • Strong event planning, volunteer coordination, and community partnership experience.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
