Job summary

The Addison of Port Orange, part of Sonida Senior Living, seeks a Life Enrichment Director to design and lead a dynamic activity program for residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. You will create meaningful experiences, manage a team, and collaborate with care staff to enhance wellbeing.

Lead monthly calendars, coordinate events, and ensure regulatory and company standards are met while driving resident engagement and satisfaction in a vibrant senior living

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational, creative, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team.
• 1-3 years of activities or life enrichment experience in senior living (preferred).
• Certified Activity Director (or state equivalent certification) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a diverse monthly calendar of social, recreational, spiritual, and educational activities.
• Tailor programming to residents' interests and care levels across IF, AL, and Memory Care.
• Coordinate special events, outings, and family engagement opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and supervise Life Enrichment team members and volunteers.
• Foster a culture of creativity, engagement, and resident-centered care within the department.
• Track and report on resident participation and engagement outcomes.

Job Responsibilities & Qualifications

Program Planning & Engagement

• Design and lead a diverse monthly calendar of social, recreational, spiritual, and educational activities

• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families
• Partner with care teams to ensure programming supports residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being
• Track and report on resident participation and engagement outcomes

Administrative & Compliance

• Manage department budget, supplies, and vendor relationships
• Ensure programming meets state regulatory requirements and company standards

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred
• Strong organizational, creative, and communication skills
• Ability to lead and inspire a team

• 1-3 years of activities or life enrichment experience in senior living
• Certified Activity Director (or state equivalent certification)
