Job summary

Brookside Care Center in California seeks an Activity Director to plan, implement, and evaluate recreational, social, intellectual, and emotional programs aligned with residents' assessments and care plans.

The role requires CA Certification for Activity Director or qualification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, strong documentation, and excellent communication with residents, families, and the clinical team to support holistic resident well-being.

Qualifications

• CA Certification for Activity Director is required or candidate must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist.
• The primary purpose of your job as Activity Director is in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. This is a Skilled Nursing Facility and the program must meet the needs of each resident.
• Accurate documentation is required, as well as, interaction with our clinical team, residents, their families and volunteers.
• Good written and verbal communication, working well with a team, willingness to work with difficult residents and/or families, creativity and an energetic personality are all traits that we are looking for.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate recreational and social programs per assessment and care plan.
• Maintain accurate documentation and coordinate with clinical team, residents, families and volunteers.
