Job summary

Brickyard Healthcare in Richmond, Indiana is seeking an Activities Director to develop, organize, and coordinate activity services and programs that meet the needs and interests of residents.

The position involves planning, assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance resident quality of life within a licensed care environment. Flexible scheduling and education reimbursement are offered as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current licensure/registration in state of practice as Activities Director, Social Worker, OT, or OTA as required by state law.
• Minimum two years' experience in social or recreational programs within the last five years.
• Minimum one year full-time experience in health care activities program.
• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess residents prior to initial Care Plan Conference; develop individual recreation plan and participate in Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings.
• Update assessments and plans as required by state/federal regulations.
• Develop monthly recreation program calendars.
• Communicate facility programs to residents, staff, family and volunteers.
• Manage facility Volunteer Program.
• Maintain departmental documentation of services and resident progress.
• Facilitate Residents' Council organization and development in coordination with social services.
• Make job assignments and set priorities.
• Serve as member of QAA committee.

Education

Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification preferred

We rely on our Activities Director to ensure the development, organization, and coordination of the center and community resources to provide comprehensive Activity Services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.

Responsibilities:

• Interview and assess all residents prior to the initial Care Plan Conference; document this information in the medical record, develop an individual recreation plan based on the assessment and participate in Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings
• Update assessments and plans as needed and required by state or federal regulations
• Develop monthly recreation program calendars that reflect and meet the needs of facility residents
• Communicate facility programs to residents, staff, family and volunteers
• Manage facility Volunteer Program
• Maintain departmental documentation that reflects services provided and resident progress towards goals
• In coordination with social services facilitate the residents in the organization and continued development of a Resident's Council
• Make job assignments and set priorities
• Serve as member of QAA committee

Qualifications:
