Job summary

Unity Health in Newport, AR seeks an Activity Coordinator to plan and implement daily programs for Behavioral Health and Senior Life Programs. The role reports to the Behavioral Health Supervisor and Senior Life Coordinator and requires lifting up to 40 lbs and engaging participants with motivating activities.

Responsibilities include developing activities that comply with state mandates, leading fitness and socialization sessions, coordinating fundraising, and maintaining records and progress

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience in social or recreational programs preferred.
• Understanding of group interaction and motivation techniques; knowledge of basic office procedures.
• Safety-sensitive position with prohibition on use of medical marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implement the various daily activities for the Programs that follow the state mandates for Behavioral Health/Senior activities.
• Daily preparation and training of physical fitness, socialization, interpersonal/social skills, daily living skills and leisure time.
• Assists with coordinating and implementing fund raisers.
• Maintains appropriate records, prepares reports as assigned.
• Records daily progress on individual objectives. Maintains the progress notes, assessments, goals and objectives, and yearly evaluations on individual progress.
• Keeps participants informed of educational opportunities/support groups.
• Acts as an advocate for active Seniors and/or Behavioral Health patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.

DESCRIPTION:

The Activity Coordinator for the Behavioral Health and the Senior Life Programs work under the direct supervision of the Unity Health- Behavioral Health Supervisor and/or Senior Life Coordinator and the general direction of the Department/Program Directors. This position develops and implements various activities for the Behavioral Health/Senior Life Programs.

Physical Effort: Has ability to lift 40 lbs. and has the mobility needed to engage the program participants.

Mental Effort: Must understand and follow the state mandates for Behavioral Health and Senior Activities.
