Job summary

Senior Lifestyle is seeking a resident programs coordinator to plan and implement lifestyle programming for residents, including social, fitness, educational, and spiritual activities.

You will survey residents to tailor activities, respect privacy, and build relationships to encourage participation and quality of life. Collaboration with staff and contractors is essential, with occasional budget and team support responsibilities.

Qualifications

• No experience required; 6+ months of programming or activities in a professional setting preferred.
• Professional communication with residents, guests, and coworkers.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality of residents.
• Enthusiastic, outgoing; enjoy building relationships with residents and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement resident lifestyle programming within the community and through outside trips and events.
• Survey residents to determine interests, talents, and satisfaction with programs.
• Respect diversity and spirituality when planning activities and celebrations.
• Develop relationships to encourage participation and appreciation for life.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report changes to staff.
• Utilize community resources to enrich program variety.
• Assist with budget development and management for the department.
• Support Resident Program Assistants when the Director of Resident Programs is unavailable.

Job Description

• Plan, develop, and implement resident lifestyle programming within the community as well as through outside trips and events.
• Survey and interview residents to determine their past and present interests and talents, as well as their satisfaction with the community’s programs and activities.
• Recognize the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.
• Develop relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of and appreciation for life.
• Observe residents’ function and behavior and report significant changes or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Utilize outside community resources and independent contractors to enrich the variety of programs made available to residents.
• Assist with developing and managing the annual department budget.
• Assist with managing Resident Program Assistants as needed in the absence of the Director of Resident Programs.
