Job summary

SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP in San Antonio, TX seeks a Temporary Full Time Recreation Coordinator to plan, develop, schedule, coordinate, facilitate and monitor activities, events, and trips for Center of Hope Corps programs, ensuring participant needs are met and compliance with Salvation Army policies.

The role includes promoting activities, preparing monthly calendars, assisting participants with movement, and serving meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience coordinating activities for elderly or disabled in human services.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain Activities Director Certification within established timeframe.
• CPR & First Aid Certification within established timeframe.
• Food Handlers Certification within established timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, schedule, coordinate, facilitate, and monitor activities, events, and trips for Salvation Army programs.
• Promotes and facilitates activities on a regular basis including recreational, athletic, educational, and devotional topics.
• Prepares and distributes monthly calendars and/or newsletters promoting scheduled activities and providing information of interest to participants.
• Assists participants with moving as needed throughout the day.
• Serves breakfast and lunch to participants; assists with moving to tables; assists with cutting.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and monitors a variety of engaging activities, events, and trips to meet the needs and interests of specific groups participating in Salvation Army programs; monitors all activities to ensure needs of participants are met and to ensure compliance with established activity plans as well as The Salvation Army policies and procedures
• Plans, promotes, coordinates, and facilitates activities on a regular basis to include recreational, athletic, entertaining, educational, and/or devotional topics.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEducation and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.and Two years work experience coordinating activities and working with to the elderly or people with disabilities in a human services or medically-related program,orAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:
