Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth invites applicants for an Activities Coordinator role. The position is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at the Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth.

The role offers a friendly team, pension scheme, and funded qualifications up to QCF level 5, with on-demand pay available. We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable, and ready to create engaging activities that enhance residents’ wellbeing and daily enjoyment.

Qualifications

• Must have 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK.
• No skilled or student visas accepted under new guidance.
• Care home/activities experience is required.
• Caring, positive, and reliable individuals are sought after.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and engagement with residents.
• Design and manage engaging activities plans, including internal and external resources.
• Plan events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents.
• Engage with residents to tailor activities to their interests and bring them to life.
• Coordinate with external entertainers or businesses for visits and activities.
• Support residents’ mobility through inclusive activities.
• Organise social trips and in-home activities for all abilities.
• Assist team members and help the home run smoothly through shadowing and teamwork.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required
