Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is hiring an Activities Coordinator on a 30-hour week, Monday to Friday. Salary is £12.85 per hour, based at Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth. The role focuses on designing engaging activities, coordinating events, and supporting residents’ wellbeing.

You will work with a close-knit team, have access to funded qualifications up to QCF level 5, and join a supportive environment with flexible pay options and a Refer a Friend bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK for at least 12 months.
• Previous care home/activities experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents.
• Creating activities - design an engaging plan internally and with external resources.
• Event planning for residents' summer BBQs, Christmas parties, and other events.
• Resident interaction - discuss desired activities and bring them to life.
• External communications - liaise with entertainers or businesses for visits.
• Mobility support through activities like Zumba or ballroom dancing.
• Social activities and trips within and outside the home.
• Support new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required
