Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our team. The role is 30 hours per week, based at the Weymouth home, with pay of £12.85 per hour. We offer pension, funded training up to QCF level 5, a Refer a Friend bonus, Blue Light Card discounts and on-demand pay.

Joining our welcoming team, you will design activities, provide companionship and coordinate events to enhance residents' daily lives and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK with at least 12 months remaining.
• Caring, positive and reliable attitude.
• No prior care experience required; funded training provided.

Responsibilities

• Companionship and engagement with residents.
• Design and run engaging activities and plans.
• Plan events such as parties or summer activities.
• Interact with residents to implement activities.
• Coordinate with external entertainers or resources.
• Support mobility through activities and games.
• Organise social activities within the home.
• Assist colleagues through teamwork and shadowing.

The Role Activities Coordinator - working 12 hours per week from 10am to 4pm on a Saturday and a Sunday on a weekly basis.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship - providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning - our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction - you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications - as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities - trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required.

• Previous care experience is not essential, as fully funded training is provided.
