The Birches, Trillium Wood’s skilled nursing facility in Plymouth, MN, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, schedule, and coordinate meaningful resident activities. This hospitality-focused role supports residents’ physical, mental, and social well-being and works part-time with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications include NCAP certification or related experience, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to lead engaging programs. CPR/First Aid within 60 days is required.

• NCAP certification preferred; or at least one year of experience with older adults in a senior living setting.

Position: Activities Coordinator

Schedules Available: Part-time: 16 hours a week 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM every other weekend and holiday rotation

Pay Range: $19 - $21 / hr depending on qualifications

Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary:

The Birches, Trillium Wood’s five star rated Skilled Nursing Facility, is recruiting for hospitality focused Life Enrichment Coordinators to join our team! In this role you will be responsible planning, scheduling, and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental, and social well-being.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist Life Enrichment team with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all resident activities including special events following the Life Enrichment programs (Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, Ambassador, and Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program) on a monthly basis.
• Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees.
• Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program.
• Lead daily resident activities per our community standards.
• Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to the Community standards.
• Plan and execute diverse and engaging programs to meet the needs of a diverse resident population including newly retired seniors seeking a carefree lifestyle, seniors in need of physical assistance, and seniors in varying stages of memory loss.

Qualifications:

• National Certification for Activity Professionals (NCAP) certification preferred; or at least one year of experience working with older adults in a senior living setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead engaging group programs and activities.
• Enthusiastic, creative, and energetic approach to working with residents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Compassionate, flexible, and collaborative team player.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a criminal background check, drug test, tuberculosis skin test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
