Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. in California seeks an Activities Coordinator to develop and implement therapeutic activity programs for our participants. You will design engaging activities that promote wellbeing and meaningful engagement.

You will assist the Recreational Manager in developing and executing recreational activities and projects for process improvement and enhanced participant experience, and may travel as required by the department’s needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree desirable.
• At least 1 year in social/recreational programs for frail/elderly populations; dementia care preferred.
• Completion of 36-hour Activity Leader course approved by CA within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual across English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, location dependent.
• Experience with virtual activities preferred.
• Valid BLS certification or higher per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement therapeutic activity programs for participants.
• Assist the Recreational Manager in developing and executing activities and process-improvement projects to enhance participant experience.
• May travel as required by department needs.

Job Overview

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic activity programs. This position will also help the Recreational Manager develop and execute recreational activities and projects for process improvement and enhancement of participant experience. The activities coordinator may be required to travel according to the department's needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services for a frail or elderly population (preferred). Experience with dementia care is highly desirable.
• Completion of 36 hours of Activity Leader (previously “Activity Director”) course, designed specifically for this position and approved by the State of California required within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.
• Experience in providing virtual activities is preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$25.75 - $32.19 hourly
