Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living, Burke VA, seeks an Activities & Volunteer Coordinator to lead resident engagement, volunteer services, concierge operations, and customer experience programs.

You will drive connection, purpose, and well-being, improving resident and family satisfaction while coordinating with teams across departments. The role emphasizes leadership, event planning, and the use of engagement tech to track outcomes and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a leadership role within senior living, hospitality, or volunteer management.
• Strong organizational and communication and event-planning abilities.
• Experience with volunteer engagement tech and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate resident-centered engagement programs and events
• Oversee activities, entertainment, and wellness programming across all neighborhoods, including memory care
• Supervise team members, volunteers, and concierge staff
• Recruit, onboard, train, and retain volunteers; build community partnerships
• Track participation, satisfaction, and engagement metrics to improve programming
• Manage engagement documentation, calendars, reporting, and technology platforms
• Lead concierge operations, delivering exceptional experiences for residents, families, and visitors
• Support budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and operational planning
• Partner with Sales and Resident Care on move-ins and ongoing engagement
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and Sunrise quality standards

What You'll Bring:

• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities

• Strong organizational, communication, and event-planning skills

• Experience with volunteer/engagement technology and reporting preferred

• Sound judgment in a fast-paced environment

• Passion for creating meaningful resident experiences

• Valid driver's license, if required

Pay Range:

22.15 - 27.75
