Job summary

We are seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Engagement & Activity Team. You will work with the Engagement Director to create engaging experiences for residents, focusing on physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being within a vibrant community.

Responsibilities include planning diverse activities, coordinating trips, and documenting participation while fostering a warm, inclusive atmosphere. A high school diploma and love for seniors are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; courses in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
• Organize things well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

• Plan and run a variety of activities (exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, events with speakers and music).
• Connect with residents personally to tailor activities and ensure enjoyment and meaning.
• Help plan trips outside the community and ensure safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with seniors' interests.
