Department Details

Flexible hours, every other weekend. Main duties include assisting with outings and large group activities.

Summary

Strives to improve the quality of life for patients/residents by providing appropriate, meaningful activities and interventions on a one-on-one and/or group basis.

Job Responsibilities

• Administers the monthly activity calendar.
• Regularly elicits input from patients/residents into activity planning.
• Organizes and maintains activities, including music, craft, and spiritual activities, following all state requirements.
• Supports and ensures functioning at an optimal level while maintaining dignity and identity.
• Assists with simple nursing procedures and transporting patients/residents.
• Assists with documentation such as MDS and EPIC.
• Displays creativity and resourcefulness.
• Follows written and verbal instructions under supervision.
• Demonstrates leadership, motivation, and critical thinking skills.
• Works autonomously, prioritizes responsibilities, and manages resources efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in social services or creative activities preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Knowledge of working with diverse resident demographics.
• Preferred current CNA certification or enrollment in a healthcare-related program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, with training provided if necessary.
• Must obtain and maintain department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Depending on location, may require a valid driver’s license and medical qualification for driving duties.
