Position Summary

Responsible for assisting the Director of Recreation Therapy and the Assistant Therapeutic Recreation Director in following the specific treatment plan as established during the interdisciplinary care planning process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist and conduct one-on-one, unit, and larger programs.
• Monitor and document resident involvement and progress as established by state or federal regulations.
• Establish short- and long-term measurable, specific, and time-oriented goals for each resident.
• Report changes in residents' functioning to the Director for care plan review.
• Follow established program directives, policies, and practices.
• Obey all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform additional work following prescribed procedures as trained; detailed instructions will be provided at the start of employment.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Write clear, concise resident-care notes meeting regulatory standards.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.
• Be self-motivated and work independently.
• Work schedule is flexible and based on departmental needs.

Qualifications Required
