Job summary

Brushy Creek Post Acute, a beautiful 144-bed skilled nursing facility located next to the hospital in Greer, South Carolina, is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to provide engaging programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being. This is a part-time role with a Tue and Thu schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a long-term care, healthcare, senior living, recreation, or activities setting preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
• Encourage resident participation in activities, hobbies, crafts, games, and special events.
• Assist with resident outings and special programs.
• Help develop and maintain monthly activity calendars and attendance records.
• Support the development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Assist with assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes as assigned.
• Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary care team meetings as needed.
• Arrange or assist with resident transportation for activities, appointments, and outings when necessary.
• Provide in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or unable to attend group programs.
• Maintain positive communication with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Help keep the Activities Department clean, organized, and secure.
• Support facility quality improvement initiatives as requested by the Activities Director.

Education
