Job summary

Artis Senior Living seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to lead resident programming and engage individuals living with memory loss. You will design activities, collaborate on a monthly calendar, and connect with families to support personalized care plans in a dementia-friendly setting.

The role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and a willingness to work with the elderly. Full-time hours vary to meet community needs, with a strong emphasis on safe, meaningful engagement across residents.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop programs meeting the individualized needs of residents.
• Collaborate with Life Enrichment team to develop a monthly calendar that aligns with Artis standards and resident interests.
• Engage residents in daily programming and entertainment; assist in creating activities for memory care and general dementia needs.
• Coordinate with outside agencies to develop programs that enhance resident experience.
• Plan suitable trips for residents based on memory and safety considerations.
• Provide engagement information to the Director for personalized care planning.
• Maintain communication with family members regarding participation in programs.
• Support and supervise volunteers to sustain an active program.

Starting pay is $20 / hour!

This is a full-time position. Flexible availability is preferred, as schedule and hours will vary based on the needs of the community.

We proudly title our Activities Assistants as the Life Enrichment Assistant, reflecting the collaborative role they play in our community and the important work they do to support our residents and families.

The Life Enrichment Assistant willengage residents in daily programming and entertainment. Assists the Director in the creation of activities designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. Familiarity with Alzheimer's/Dementia is preferred, and a willingness to work with the elderly population is essential for this role.

The Life Enrichment Assistant will:

• Create and develop programs that meet the individualized needs of the resident population at the community.
• Collaborate with other Life Enrichment Assistants to develop a monthly calendar that meets the Artis standards and the individual interests of the residents.
• Utilize the Partnership Profile to develop appropriate programs of interest to the residents.
• Utilize the associate Partnership Profile to involve associates in programs of interest and to enhance the monthly calendar.
• Demonstrate the company philosophy of Positive Partnerships the ARTIS Way.
• Assures that the ARTIS specific programs are being held as designated (i.e., Time to Dish, Town Halls, I CAN program, and I’m AlWrite).
• Coordinate with outside agencies and organizations to develop programs that enhance resident experience.
• Plans out trips for residents that meet their individual needs and are appropriate for residents with memory loss
• Provides information to the Director of Life Enrichment regarding resident engagement to assist with the development of a personalized care plan.
• Maintain communication with family members regarding level of participation in programs.
• Support and maintain an effective volunteer program through screening, orienting, training, supervising and evaluating volunteers.
