Job Title: Activities Assistant in Adult Day Services

Status: Part Time Days

Schedule: Varied hours, 10-15 hours per week

Salary Range: Starting at $15.00/hour

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist with facilitating group and one-on-one activities as delegated by the Program Coordinator or Director.
• Contribute creative ideas for activities.
• Ensure high standards of care for persons with cognitive impairments related to activities and care.
• Assist in personal care tasks such as toileting, bathing, dressing, fingernail care, daily living tasks, and transfers.
• Communicate effectively with the Director regarding program goals, problems, and successes.
• Complete necessary documentation per state regulations and facility policies.
• Escort clients to and from activities within and outside the building.
• Orient new clients to the program, activities, and meal times.
• Serve meals and snacks at appropriate times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience in healthcare or social services.
• Desire and ability to work with older persons with cognitive impairments.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Energy and ability to maintain an effective activity program addressing diverse needs.
• Complete First Aid and CPR certification after hire.
