Job summary

Silver Birch of Mishawaka is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with our Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and lead engaging activities that bring joy and connection to our residents.

In this role you’ll help create meaningful, fun programs, track participation, and support a welcoming environment. Prior experience with seniors and CPR/First Aid are a plus; evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support the Life Enrichment Coordinator with daily programming and activities.
• Help plan, set up, lead, and clean up group activities and events.
• Assist with large group programs and special events.
• Monitor and document resident participation and engagement.
• Track attendance and maintain activity records.
• Provide transportation for residents using the community van, as needed.
• Create a fun, welcoming environment that encourages participation.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with seniors is preferred
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly attitude
• Comfort managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varied hours
• Comfort using Microsoft Office and web-based tools
