Job summary

Langdon Place of Exeter seeks a compassionate Activities Assistant who will also serve as a Bus Driver for our 14-passenger minibus (no CDL required). The role includes leading resident activities and safe transportation to outings.

Schedule: Tue/Thu 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., every other weekend is required; 32 hours per week is negotiable with Tue/Thu EOW required. Benefits and career development offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities or recreation, preferably in senior care.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CDL not required to operate the 14-passenger minibus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills to document on a tablet.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Facilitate group programs, one-on-one visits, games, crafts, music, and social events.
• Encourage resident participation and engagement.
• Document attendance and resident feedback using a tablet.
• Collaborate with staff to align activities with residents' care plans.
• Safely operate a 14-passenger minibus to transport residents to outings and appointments.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Activities Assistant:

• Provide a friendly and comfortable experience during transportation

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an activities or recreation role preferred, especially in senior care

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Comfortable operating a minibus (CDL not required)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Basic computer skills required to document on a tablet

• Positive, compassionate, and creative mindset

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certifications a plus
