Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking an Activities Assistant in Maryland Heights, MO, to support the Life Enrichment Director in delivering programs that meet residents' interests and social needs.

The role involves assisting with life enrichment activities, coordinating with family members, and helping residents during meals and events to foster social interaction and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Preferred Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – 1 year experience preferred.
  • If applicable: must possess a current chauffeur’s license if operating transportation vehicles and a current CDL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Able to express self in written and oral communication in an interdisciplinary care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Actively implements life enrichment programs as planned and assigned to meet residents' needs and interests.
  • Honors individual needs and communicates changes or requests to the Director of Life Enrichment.
  • Assists Residents to and from life enrichment programs and outings as scheduled.
  • Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support.
  • Assists residents during meals and snacks, promoting socialization.
  • Completes records indicating attendance and participation in activities.
  • Provides input to assessment and evaluation of Residents participation.
  • Communicates concerns and responses to interventions to supervisor.
  • Assist and work with volunteers and volunteer programs as requested.
  • Assists residents with ADL needs during activities such as toileting or eating/drinking.

The Activities Assistant works with the Life Enrichment Director to implement programs that support the interests, purposes and social needs of residents.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Actively implements life enrichment programs as planned and assigned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each Resident.
  • Honors the individual needs and preferences of residents and communicates well changes, requests and interests of residents with the Director of Life Enrichment.
  • Assists Residents to and from life enrichment programs and outing as scheduled.
  • Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
  • Assists residents during meals and snacks encouraging an atmosphere of socialization.
  • Completes appropriate records indicating Resident’s attendance and participation in individual and group activities in a timely basis.
  • Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of Residents participation when requested.
  • Communicates Resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.Supports Residents individual needs, and preferences, customary routines, concerns and choices.
  • Assist and works with individual volunteers and volunteer programs at the request of the Life enrichment Director.
  • Assists residents with ADL needs that arise during planned activities such as toileting or eating/drinking.
  • Participates in long term care survey process, regulatory, and accreditation.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Preferred Certified as a Nursing Assistant – 1-year experience preferred.
  • If applicable: must possess a current chauffeur’s license if operating transportation vehicles and possess a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys socializing, has an outgoing and friendly personality
  • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
