Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Imperial in Naples, FL is hiring an Activities Assistant CNA to plan and implement recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents. You will assist residents, promote participation, and maintain records while collaborating with nursing staff and therapists to integrate activity programs into the care plan.

Florida CNA certification is required; APC certification is preferred or candidates must be willing to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Florida CNA certification.
• Experience in activities programming or related field preferred.
• Passion for working with older adults and diverse needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents.

Activities Assistant CNA Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients, considering their individual interests and abilities.
• Provide hands-on assistance and support to residents/patients during activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
• Encourage resident/patient participation in activities and facilitate social interactions to promote a sense of community and belonging.
• Maintain accurate records of resident/patient participation and any observations or changes in behavior or mood.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and social workers, to integrate activity programs into the overall care plan.
• Modify activities as needed to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of residents/patients, including those with physical or cognitive limitations.
• Assist with the procurement and organization of supplies, equipment, and materials needed for activities.
• Communicate regularly with residents/patients, families, and team members to solicit feedback, address concerns, and promote engagement in activities.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to activities programming and resident/patient care.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing activities programming in long-term care facilities.

Activities Assistant CNA Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Florida.
• Previous experience in activities programming or a related field preferred but not required.
• Passion for working with older adults and individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
