Job summary

Brentwood, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates, seeks an Activities Assistant to plan and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. You will contribute to a positive, lively atmosphere and have the chance for meaningful impact within a caring team.

The role requires compassion, teamwork, and the ability to engage residents in diverse activities, with training provided. 32 hours/week, Wed–Sat, with a competitive pay of 17.50 USD per hour.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but training will be provided.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic by nature.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing activities for residents.
  • Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop a monthly activities calendar.
  • Provide one-on-one support for residents needing extra assistance.
  • Foster community and social interaction among residents.
  • Document residents' participation and maintain activity records.

What You'll Do:

*Full time, 32 hrs per week / Wed - Sat (roughly 8am - 430pm) *

  • $17.50 an hour *

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
  • Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
  • Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
  • Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
  • Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities

Rate of Pay

Up to USD $17.50/Hr.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of an Activities Assistant include:

  • Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required - training will be provided
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
