Job summary

Watertown Health Care Center in Watertown, WI, is seeking a dedicated CNA to provide direct patient care and foster a compassionate environment for residents. You will support dignity, empower residents, and guide them with kindness through daily interactions and caregiving tasks.

The role involves assisting in activity planning, coordinating group and individual activities, and ensuring safety during engagements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this resident-centered setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a similar role preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly or individuals with dementia or physical limitations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a compassionate demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
• Must be able to lift up to 5 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs tailored to meet the interests and needs of residents.
• Lead or co-lead group and individual activities, including games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, outings, and religious services.
• Encourage resident participation and help residents engage based on their individual abilities and preferences.
• Transport or escort residents to and from activities within the facility and occasionally outside the premises.
• Document resident attendance and participation; report changes in physical or mental status to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in decorating the facility for holidays, birthdays, and special events.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and respectful environment.
• Support resident-centered care and promote dignity and independence.
• Maintain activity equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good condition.
