Job summary

HMR Veterans Services seeks an Activities Assistant to create and implement meaningful activities for veterans, encouraging participation in hobbies and events. You will help develop care plans, involve families in planning, and coordinate with medical staff to maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a compassionate setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills, patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling stress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and implementing activities.
• Encourage resident participation in hobbies, crafts, and events.
• Help develop care plans and assessments.
• Involve residents and families in activity planning.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and supplies.
• Attend meetings, training, and in-service sessions.
• Assist with transportation and supervise activities.
• Collaborate with medical staff and external providers.
• Promote a positive, warm, and respectful environment.
