Job summary

Seton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the United States seeks an Activities Assistant for part-time evenings and weekend shifts. You will create engaging programs and support residents' highest level of functioning through personalized activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide activity programs to maintain residents' highest functioning according to capacity and interests.
  • Encourage participation and assist with transportation.
  • Escort residents to community events outside the facility.
  • Plan decorations, arrange equipment, craft activities, and prize awards.
  • Plan and distribute the monthly activity calendar.
  • Schedule movies, parties, and other games/activities.
  • Supervise and lead activities as needed.
  • Attend Care Plan meetings and contribute.
  • Participate in QA programs and facility committees.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Helps resident maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs according to resident’s physical capacity, cognitive ability and interest
  • Invites and encourages resident participation and assists in transporting
  • Accompanies residents outside facility to participate in community events
  • Create decorations, up set necessary equipment, create various crafts, and award pries
  • Assist in planning, layout and distribution of monthly activity calendar
  • Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties and providing games/activities for residents
  • Supervise and lead activities as necessary
  • Create decorations, setup necessary equipment, create various crafts, and award pries
  • Attend and contribute to resident Care Plan Meetings
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs and facility committees/programs

  • Must have experience in recreation with long-term care experience being preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required in skilled nursing
  • Possess a passion for working with and having impactful interactions with seniors
