Job summary

Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at South Hills is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to support planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance residents' quality of life.

You will help run daily programs, encourage participation, assist with setup and transport, maintain supplies, and document attendance while collaborating with the Activities Director and the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting daily activity programs, including events, holiday celebrations, and entertainment.
• Encourage participation and provide individual support during activities, promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Set up, decorate, and clean activity areas before and after events, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
• Transport participants to and from activities when needed, demonstrating empathy and kindness.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, and team members, fostering community and belonging.
• Maintain activity supplies and assist with inventory, showcasing attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Document attendance and participant involvement as required, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient personality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with basic computer skills preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with activity setup, demonstrating physical stamina and willingness

Work Environment:

• This position may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting participants throughout the day, with evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required depending on scheduled activities and special events.
