Responsibilities:
- Assist the director in planning and executing activity programs that provide entertainment, communication, exercise, relaxation, creative expression, and fulfill residents' psychological, social, and spiritual needs, accessible to all residents within written restrictions.
- Encourage and facilitate craft activities for residents in groups or individually, in recreation areas or residents’ rooms.
- Promote participation in religious activities to meet residents' spiritual needs.
- Visit non-ambulatory residents, assist with writing letters, provide one-on-one visits, run errands, and help residents attend church services within limitations. Read to residents or provide reading materials tailored to individual needs.
- Oversee and initiate volunteer groups involved in various activity programs.
Qualifications:
- Must be state tested, have a recent nurse aide training completion certificate, or be willing to train. Call (330) 545-1550 for free nurse aide training information.
- Previous experience in direct care services and activities is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
