Job summary

Join Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, CO as an Activities Assistant. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will coordinate social, recreational, purposeful and spiritual activities for residents, helping them stay engaged and supported.

Qualifications include a high school graduate or equivalent and at least one year in a healthcare setting preferred; ability to read and follow instructions and to document properly; ability to work with residents at varying levels of responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate social, recreational, purposeful and spiritual activities to residents, whose needs include psychological, physical, and cognitive challenges.
• Perform defined work routines and daily assignments, using various department supplies and equipment, as assigned by the Therapeutic Recreation Director.
• Assist with social activities and recreational programs that provide spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual challenges for facility residents.
• Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Therapeutic Recreation Director.

Pay Range: $17.40 - $19.65 per hour, based on previous work experience

Schedules: Sunday - Thursday, 8-hours shifts

What You Bring (Requirements)

• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred. Preference given to persons who have completed courses in therapeutic recreation.
• Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions; to prepare written reports and documentation.
• Ability to work with residents of varying levels of responsiveness.
