Job summary

Arbor Terrace Lakeway invites a compassionate Activities Assistant to join our vibrant community. You will help design and run engaging activities that promote wellness, social connections, and meaningful moments for residents in a luxurious setting.

As part of our team, you will coordinate events, lead classes, and manage activity calendars while collaborating with staff and volunteers to tailor experiences to resident interests and needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in activities coordination or recreation preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing activities for residents.
• Coordinate events and outings for residents.
• Develop and lead activities such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, and social gatherings.
• Create and manage activity calendars and schedules.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to meet residents' needs.

• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, and staff, ensuring a positive and respectful environment


• Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, attendance, and resident participation


• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of new ideas and initiatives

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred


• Previous experience in activities coordination, recreation, or a related field, or equivalent education and training
