Job summary

Viva Senior Living at Glassboro is seeking an Activity Assistant to help create an engaging, home-like atmosphere for residents. You will plan, organize, and implement a variety of activities aligned with Viva's philosophies to support resident adjustment, health, and social satisfaction.

Responsibilities include conducting a range of activities with residents and visiting family, sustaining morale through diverse programming, and communicating upcoming events via the bulletin board.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must work well with peers in a congenial environment and show compassion to residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating an engaging, home-like atmosphere by planning, organizing and implementing activities.
• Conduct a variety of activities for residents and visiting family as directed by the Activity Director.
• Uphold morale with diverse engaging activities and provide adequate supervision for each activity.
• Inform residents of upcoming activities using the bulletin board and schedule.

Job description

The essential functions of the job for the Activity Assistant , requires, and may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living to include, but are not limited to the following:

Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.

Must possess , at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED

Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.

In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather,

evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).

Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loved ones.

Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist with creating an engaging, home like atmosphere while planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of activities for the residents in accordance with Viva Senior Living’s philosophies to maximize resident adjustment, healthy lifestyle, and social satisfaction.

Conduct a variety of activities for the residents and their visiting family members or friends as directed by Activity Director

Uphold morale of residents by offering adequate and diversified engaging activities and plan sufficient supervision for each activity

Inform all residents of upcoming activities referring to the schedule of events on the bulletin board.
