Job summary

Delaware Bay Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Georgetown, DE, seeks an Activities Assistant to engage residents through planned recreation and social activities. You will help enhance residents' quality of life by organizing events, promoting participation, and documenting progress.

We offer a supportive team, competitive hourly pay, and benefits. Shifts are Mon-Fri with every other weekend; prior long-term care experience is helpful but not required, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Pleasant, outgoing and compassionate demeanor.
• Flexible, able to multitask and reliable.
• Experience in long-term care is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and conducting activities with residents.
• Plan and promote recreation-based activities that stimulate the mind and body and foster social interaction.
• Provide input into the design and development of monthly recreation programs.
• Document resident attendance and participation in activities and write progress notes.
• Attend care plan meetings to coordinate activities with residents'' needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in organizing and conducting activities with residents.
2. Play a key role in residents' well-being by planning and promoting recreation-based activities that stimulate the mind and body, fostering social interaction.
3. Provide input into the design and development of monthly recreation programs.
4. Document resident attendance and participation in activities and write progress notes.
5. Attend care plan meetings to coordinate activities with residents' needs as appropriate.

Qualifications

1. High school graduate or GED.
2. Pleasant, outgoing, and compassionate individual.
3. Must be flexible, able to multitask, and reliable.
4. Experience in long-term care is helpful but not required.
5. Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
