Job summary

Berea-Health-and-Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to support geriatrics through engaging activities and resident-centered programs.

The role involves assisting with grooming, coordinating events, recruiting volunteers, and ensuring smooth daily operations for residents. A high school diploma or GED is preferred and the facility provides benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in activities assistant or geriatric settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with grooming before activities.
• Assess resident abilities for activities and group programs.
• Help recruit and maintain volunteers for activity programs.
• Support Resident and Family Councils and raise concerns to staff.
• Assist with charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Sort and deliver resident mail and newspapers daily.
• Coordinate daily activities, events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Job duties:

• Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.
• Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.
• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.
• Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.
• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program preferred.
