Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes in Augusta is seeking an Activities Aide for per diem shifts, including occasional evenings for events. The role provides meaningful activities to residents and collaborates with the Activities Supervisor to maintain a steady flow of programs that support physical, mental, and social well-being.

Qualifications

• Direct small and large group activities, including directing volunteers to provide quality resident services.
• Interest in activities and working with geriatric individuals.
• Ability to understand and communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful activities to residents and coordinate with the Activities Supervisor to maintain a steady activity flow.
• Support event planning and volunteer coordination for resident programs.

The Activities Aide is responsible for providing meaningful activities to the residents and works collaboratively with the Activities Supervisor to maintain a steady flow of activities that are designed to meet the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents.

This is a per diem opportunity, days with occasional evenings for events.

Requirements

• Must be able to direct small and large group activities, including directing volunteers in the provision of quality services to the residents.
• Must possess interest in activities and working with geriatric individuals.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
• Basic computer skills
