Job summary

Hathaway Manor in New Bedford, MA is seeking an Activities Aide to support social, recreational and spiritual programs for residents. The role includes meal support in the evenings, coordinating activities and assisting with transport and assessments.

Part-time or full-time positions available, with shift from 1:30pm to 7pm and every other weekend required. Experience in activities is required and the environment is healthcare-based with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of activities experience required.

Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with resident’s care plan.

Meal support in the evening is needed. This position operates in a healthcare setting. This role also routiney comes into contact with residents who have contagious diseases.

• Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
• Assist in arranging for transportation for outings.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activity department.
• Perform administrative duties, i.e. completing necessary forms, reports, etc.
