Job summary

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) seeks a part-time, temporary GIS student to support active transportation planning in the Multimodal and Livability team within the Transportation Planning Department. The role focuses on spatial data collection and processing to support bike/pedestrian initiatives.

Responsibilities include ArcGIS Pro-based data editing, integration of OSM data, and assisting with bike network modeling and data quality for transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in city or regional planning, urban studies, GIS, geography, or related field;
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties.

Responsibilities

• Use ArcGIS Pro to review, edit, and update the REVAMP sidewalk dataset using imagery.
• Create, edit, and process geographic data using ArcGIS Pro.
• Work with OpenStreetMap (OSM) data and integrate it with other spatial datasets.
• Handle attribute data related to routes, links, and nodes.
• Assist in managing and updating street network data.
• Support spatial analysis and visualization tasks.
• Collaborate on project-based GIS tasks and provide insights.
• Assist with active transportation data collection and quality control.
