Job summary

The City of Atlanta - Watershed Management is seeking a professional GIS Analyst to leverage geospatial resources for data collection, map creation, and spatial analysis. The role emphasizes teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and acting as a liaison across departments.

Responsibilities include performing advanced analyses, producing shapefiles/CAD, and leading training for staff; requires strong ESRI ArcGIS expertise and cartographic skills. Hybrid work arrangement negotiable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field with 2 years GIS work experience.
• Master’s degree in GIS or related field with 5 years of experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications not required.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Suite and cartographic methods.

Responsibilities

• Performs and implements advanced GIS analysis methods.
• Investigates & interprets survey maps/plats.
• Produces shapefiles and CAD files for data distribution.
• Creates digitized GIS maps observing cartographic methods.
• Responds to general inquiries from peers and interdepartmental staff.
• Follows established work methods, timetables, performance standards.
• Completes assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists with updates to operating procedures.
• Follows Data Sharing standards.
• May train users in the implementation of a new system.
• May present ideas in front of small to medium sized groups.
• May act as a lead to peers, interns, or consultant staff.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
