Madison Area YMCA in Madison, NJ is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead an active adult-focused class designed for all fitness levels, incorporating cardio, strength, balance and flexibility.

The ideal candidate has a current Group Fitness Certification from a nationally recognized organization and at least one year of teaching experience; classes are scheduled Monday and Thursday mornings, around 10 a.m., within a friendly, supportive community environment.

GROUP EX INSTRUCTOR Part Time Madison, NJ, US

Salary Range: $28.00 To $32.00 Hourly

We're looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructor to lead a fun, active adult-focused class designed for all fitness levels. The ideal candidate will create engaging workouts that incorporate cardio, strength, conditioning, flexibility and balance, using easy-to-follow movements and motivating music. Join our team and help members build confidence, improve their health, and achieve their wellness goals in a supportive community environment.

As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will:

• Teach an active adults class combining aspects of strength, conditioning, balance and flexibility.
• Lead energizing, fun and safe class
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture.
• Ensure the proper equipment is available.
• Record accurate class attendance.

Qualifications:

Must be able to teach Monday & Thursday in the morning, preferably at 10a.

Current Group Fitness Certification from a nationally recognized organization

• Minimum 1-year consistent teaching experience is preferred.

Certifications subject to annual audit
