Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) for Barry Delivery Office on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. The role is 30 hours per week across a 5-day rota, including some weekends and one in four Sundays.

You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, meet customers, and work outdoors in all weather. A full UK manual driving licence is required and you must pass a driving assessment.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and well-organised.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
