Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Campbell is seeking an Active Living Assistant to help create an engaging, supportive community for residents. You will deliver high levels of customer service, assist with planning activities, and coordinate social events to promote socialization and activity.

The role requires a HS diploma (college degree preferred), 1–2 years related experience, and a Class B Driver's License with passenger endorsement.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience.
• Class B Driver's License with passenger endorsement.
• Prefer social activity involvement.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to residents and Team Members by achieving the MG CARES program standards.
• Develop Activities: plan, coordinate and participate in social events to provide an active community life.
• Engage residents, families and the external community in activities and volunteer opportunities.
• Track resident activity participation and adjust calendar events with the Assisted Living Program Director.
• Develop community communications such as activity calendars for residents and families.
• Transport and accompany residents to outside activities and appointments as needed.
• Set up and clean up activities and acknowledge residents' special days.
• Conduct community tours when necessary.
• Participate in in-service training and manage supplies for activities.

Our Active Living Assistants are responsible:

Provide a high level of customer service to residents and Team Members by achieving the standards as outlined in the MG CARES program.

Develop Activities:

• Assists with planning, coordinating and participating in a variety of social events/outings to provide a vibrant and active community life to residents.
• Engages residents, families and the external community in activities and volunteer opportunities that promote socialization, expand personal interests, increase physical activity, and continue education.
• Tracks resident activity participation and work with Assisted Living Program Director to adjust calendar events accordingly.
• Stays abreast of active aging and generational trends to enhance the community program; creates and shares relevant best practices with both community staff and Active Living Program Directors.
• Assists with developing community communications, such as activities calendars, to residents, families, and prospective residents.
• Transports and/or accompanies residents to and from outside activities, shopping trips, and appointments in community vehicles.
• Sets up and cleans up activities (e.g., moving furniture, set up of tables, chairs, etc.).
• Acknowledge residents’ special days (i.e., anniversaries and birthdays).

Marketing:

• Conduct tours of the community when necessary.

Administration:

• Participates and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
• Assists with ordering and managing supplies for all activities.
• Takes responsibility for vehicle inspection as needed.

Other Duties

• Other duties as assigned.

If you are someone with:

• High School diploma required; College Degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement.
• Prefer social activity involvement.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday.
