Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill in San Diego is seeking a dedicated Senior Living Active Living Assistant/Driver to support residents with engaging activities and safe transportation. The role emphasizes compassionate care, confidentiality, and teamwork within a long-standing family-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
• Present a professional demeanor reflecting service and goodwill.
• Familiarize yourself with residents.
• Observe residents' abilities in daily living activities and social skills.
• Encourage and motivate residents; assist when needed.
• Participate in required employer training.
• Cover Activities staff in their absence.

Our Active Living Assistants/Drivers are responsible for:

• Develop Activities:
  • Collaborate with the Active Living Program Director to design and implement a program of activities appropriate to the needs of residents transitioning from AL to Memory Care.
  • Deliver, lead, or conduct program activities in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
  • Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident needs.
  • Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community
  • Observe resident’s ability to perform daily ADLs and social skills. Communicate potential difficulties or opportunities to the appropriate Team Member.
  • Encourage and motivate residents in all areas, aiding when necessary.
  • Participate in all training offered by employer.
  • Assume the duties and functions of Activities staff in their absence.

Skill Requirements:

If you are someone with:

• High School diploma required; College Degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prefer social activity involvement.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
