Job summary

Sigma Systems, Inc. is seeking an Active Ingredient Technician in Athens, GA for a 6-month contract.

The role involves preparing vaccine components in an aseptic clean room using virus and cell culture techniques in line with USDA regulations. Responsibilities include following SOPs, training others, documenting processes accurately, and supporting site projects, EHS initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; biology degree preferred.
• Some laboratory or manufacturing experience.
• Clean room and aseptic technique knowledge.
• Basic Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Basic math and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing the activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment utilizing virus and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations
• Ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures during execution of processes. Assist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills
• Complete/review in-process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintenance of technical data and support documentation
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address problems; escalation of production flow disturbances
• Demonstrate a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives
• Assessment of individual performance in regard to the continuous improvement (AAI)
• Participate and provide support to site projects and initiatives (including deviation and change control management)

Sigma Systems is currently looking for an Active Ingredient Technician

Shift timings:

• OT as needed
• Hours are 8.00am -4.30pm Monday-Friday with some weekend and holiday work required

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing the activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment utilizing virus and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations
• Ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures during execution of processes. Assist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred biology degree or related field, one year or more of laboratory experience and/or manufacturing experience.

• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Basic math skills and equipment/automation troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems.
