Job summary

Plainfield Park District is seeking an energetic Active Adult Fitness Instructor to lead and motivate fitness classes for adults age 50 and over. This substitute role is ideal for a dynamic presenter who loves helping others stay active and engaged, with the added perk of a complimentary PARC membership.

The position emphasizes safe, engaging instruction, class planning, and friendly customer service in a community recreation setting. Pay rate is $22–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Active Adult fitness program instructor experience preferred.
• High School diploma required.
• Certification from a national institute (ACE/AFAA/NASM) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead fitness programs under the direction of the Recreation Manager.
• Provide safe, effective instruction at an appropriate intensity.
• Prepare fitness plans and select exercises to meet class objectives.
• Demonstrate proper techniques to all participants.
• Maintain attendance tracking for each class.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain all certifications and follow park district policies.
