Job summary

Berklee College of Music is seeking student tutors to support peers in core theory subjects on campus. You will tutor Ear Training, Harmony and Counterpoint, Time and Rhythm, and Graduate Remedial courses, scheduling weekly 1–2 hour meetings with your tutees.

Only current Berklee or Boston Conservatory students may apply; a minimum enrollment and good standing are required. This role is on-site at Fenway Campus and pays $17.51 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current Berklee student or Boston Conservatory student is required.
• Undergraduate ACT tutors must have completed Harmony and Counterpoint 1-4 and Ear Training 1-4.
• Graduate ACT tutors must have passed Music Theory and Ear Training proficiency exams.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in core studies Theory classes such as Ear Training, Harmony and Counterpoint, Time and Rhythm, and Graduate Remedial courses.
• Schedule 1-2 hours of weekly meetings with assigned tutees.

Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
• Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled.
• In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester.
• This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
• Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
• A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
• Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
• Federal Work Study student may apply.
• In good disciplinary standing.
• Must be located in the U.S.

Work Hours: 1-4 weekly (student enrollment dependent)

Pay Rate: Student Worker 3, $17.51
