Job summary

Betty Hardwick Center in Abilene, TX is seeking a full-time registered nurse to serve as the primary nurse for the ACT Team and coordinate the plan of care with the Center psychiatrist.

Responsibilities include coordinating services with Center staff, outside agencies, and civil authorities; maintaining an up-to-date community resource network; and documenting care in line with Medicaid and state/federal standards. The role requires flexible hours and monthly performance targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health/intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable; driving is an essential function.

• Coordinate services with Center staff, outside agencies, and civil authorities.
• Maintain an up-to-date community resource network.
• Available by phone for consultation with Case Managers regarding medical/nursing issues for ACT patients.
• Provide services in the office, community, and at other sites in the Center catchment area.
• Document services in accordance with state and federal standards, including Medicaid requirements.
• Consistently meet monthly performance targets.

Job description

This position reports to the MH Program Administrator with clinical/nursing supervision/oversight by the Nursing Supervisor. This position is the primary nurse for the ACT Team and is responsible for the coordination/oversight/implementation of physician's plan of care pursuant to the weekly medication clinic for the ACT Team clients with the Center psychiatrist. This position is responsible for coordinating services with other Center staff, outside agencies, and civil authorities to provide services for individuals on the ACT Team and for individuals in Level of Care 3. This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining an up-to-date community resource network. This position will be available via phone for consultation with Case Managers regarding medical/nursing issues for ACT patients. Services will be provided in the office, community, and at other sites in the Center catchment area (Taylor, Jones, Callahan, Stephens, and Shackelford Counties). Services and documentation of those services will follow all state and federal standards, including Medicaid requirements. This position will demonstrate positive and professional interaction skills with all consumers, family, staff, and outside agencies. This position must consistently meet monthly performance targets.

Qualifications:

• Experience in mental health/intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be an insurable driver. Driving is an essential function and employees must maintain an acceptable driving record/insurability while employed.

Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, flexible.

This is a Full-Time position. Benefits are available.

Will be eligible for a one- and two-year increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
