Job summary

Radiant Health in Indiana is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. You will use your own recovery experience to build hope, share strategies, and support clients toward their personal recovery goals.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, outreach, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote self-determination and wellness. A CPSP certification is encouraged, with 6 months to obtain it after hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to obtain CPSP within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have personal lived recovery experience.
  • Minimum recovery time of 1-2 years.
  • Experience in behavioral health, social work, case management, or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver''s license, car insurance, and reliable vehicle.
  • Expected hours: No less than 40 per week.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Share your own recovery experiences when appropriate to provide hope, reassurance, and encouragement.
  • Help individuals identify their strengths, goals, and personal definition of recovery.
  • Provide support related to coping skills, symptoms of mental illness, medications and side effects, relapse prevention, and recovery.
  • Engage individuals through outreach, support, and community-based services.
  • Promote self-determination and support individuals through the stages of change.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating healthy coping and recovery skills.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow ACT program guidelines.
  • Complete required documentation and training.
