Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a Peer Specialist to provide Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services to consumers in the community and clinic settings.

The role supports ACT teams, teaching daily living skills, navigating Medicaid and housing benefits, and promoting recovery and integration. Strong peer credentials and experience in social services are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Peer training program and active Peer Specialist certification from the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is required.
• Two years of experience in a social services environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services to consumers.
• Teach Activities of Daily Living and assist with self-care, housing and benefits.
• Document all services in the electronic database and maintain required productivity.
• Attend supervision sessions and team meetings to review goals and progress.
