Astrion is seeking an Acquisition Strategy and Documentation Principal at Hanscom AFB, MA to support the Cloud One program within AFLCMC/HNI. The role requires US citizenship, a Secret clearance, a bachelor’s degree, and extensive AF acquisition experience.

Qualifications

  • US citizen and ability to maintain a US Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of program management experience, 10 of which in AF acquisition.
  • ACAT I program experience, able to formulate, recommend, and draft proper acquisition strategy and ACAT I docm in timely manner.
  • Advanced AF program management acquisition knowledge and understanding of standards, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Research cyber defense products used by DoD and government entities, and in development.
  • Collaborate with IPT to ensure significant issues are examined and corrective actions developed.
  • Develop plans and acquisition strategies to meet technical requirements within cost and schedule constraints.
  • Support mission execution including operational planning, analysis, capability development, event integration and reporting.
  • Participate in technical evaluations of proposals.
  • Review prime contractor deliverables status and schedules.
  • Stay current on future capabilities being considered by DoD, AF, and ACC decision makers.
  • Support Acquisition Strategy reviews and development of RFP documents and reviews.
  • Support program management reviews and senior level meetings, IMP/IMS reviews.
  • Prepare briefings and schedules of program status and acquisition tasks for senior management.
  • Engage with stakeholders and industry to define needs and leverage emerging technologies.
  • Oversee junior and mid-level personnel within the discipline.

ACQUISITION STRATEGY AND DOCUMENTATION PRINCIPAL

WORK LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, MA

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 annually*

*depends on experience, certifications, and qualifications

JOB STATUS:Full-time; salaried

CLEARANCE: Secret clearance required

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Acquisition Strategy and Documentation Principal to support the Cloud One program, which is within the the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
  • Bachelors degree and 20 years of program management experience, 10 of which must be in AF acquisition
  • Program specific experience:
    • Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what is within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and pursue alternative courses of action.
    • Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision, and effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
    • Possesses pertinent experience with an ACAT I level program, including formulating, recommending, and drafting the proper acquisition strategy and associated statutory and regulatory ACAT I documentations in a timely and effective manner.
    • Advanced AF program management acquisition knowledge as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise.
    • Experience in assisting with strategic level issues and ability to work independently as well as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
    • Possesses pertinent experience in the development of RFP documentation and support of Acquisition Strategy reviews.
    • Experience working with Technical requirements, implementation plans, test plans
RESPONSBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research the various cyber defense products that are in use by DoD and other Government entities, by commercial organizations, or are in development.
  • Work with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure all significant issues are thoroughly examined and evaluated. Help develop corrective actions to address any problem areas.
  • Assist the Program Manager (PM) by developing plans and recommending acquisition strategies that will allow the PMO to meet technical requirements while staying within the cost and schedule constraints.
  • Assist with mission execution to include but not limited to operational planning, operational analysis, capability development, event integration, event execution, analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in technical evaluations of proposals.
  • Review and track prime contractor deliverables status and schedules.
  • Remain current on future capabilities either in development or being considered by DoD, AF, and/or Air Combat Command decision makers (Zero trust for example)
  • Support all Acquisition Strategy reviews, develop supporting documentation, and support the Government in development and review of draft Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and RFP documents.
  • Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews and IMP/IMS reviews.
  • Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of multi-MAJCOM stakeholders to determine specific needs and requirements and to counsel within the expertise area, to include oversight and task execution utilizing leadership, teamwork, and diplomacy.
  • Generate plans, schedules, and facilitates a variety of exchanges and meetings with the program office team, stakeholders, and industry to understand program requirements and emerging commercial technologies which may address warfighter capability gaps.
  • Assist with strategic level issues and ability to work independently as well as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
  • Oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
